Quaichs

Quaichs

The word Quaich is derived from the Gaelic word CUACH, meaning shallow cup. Orginally made in naturally available materials, such as, wood, cattle horn and leather. Used by proud clan chiefs and crofters as a cup of welcome. To this day it is known as 'The Cup of Welcome' and suitably given as wedding or christening gifts.
